  • The Boys & Girls Club of Wisconsin
    Wisconsin clubs serve 144,800 kids across 160 sites in 58 cities, more than any organization outside of our public school system. We also serve two million meals and snacks every year to youth at no cost, because it’s hard to learn and grow when you’re hungry. This tax deductible donation will go directly to purchasing food, acquiring supplies, paying for staff, and addressing the needs directly related to the emergency at hand. Please help out today.

    Starting Monday, March 23rd will be starting Meals to Go. Providing FREE snack and dinner to children under the age of 18. Pick up your free snack and dinner at Benard Center or the Plover Center between 3-5:30pm weekdays.

    From 6-7am each day they will be open for only those that are at higher risk of severe illness.

    The first hour they are open each day is dedicated to their senior customers. They will also be closing an hour early to clean and restock.

    They will be changing their hours so they can close to restock and clean. Open times for stores are also changing.

    Stevens Point, WI   In response to the gap in child care services with the closure of child care centers and schools in our area, the Stevens Point Area is responding to a vital community need.The Stevens Point Area YMCA Child Care is committed to remaining open during this COVID-19 pandemic to provide critical support services to health care workers, first responders (police/fire) and other essential workers who may need care for their children.As always, the Stevens Point Area YMCA is committed to providing high quality child care in a safe and nurturing environment. Our licensed child care center, along with our certified staff, are following government guidelines and recommendations for health and safety standards and social distancing including frequent hand washing. The center is cleaned and sanitized daily, and new drop off and pick up procedures are in place for parents.The following child care rates are in effect, with some local health care employers offering to pay the cost. Rates include healthy AM and PM snacks as well as lunch. Please Note: All child care forms must be completed and payment received prior to your child’s first day.
    6 weeks to 2 years: $50.00/day
    2 years to 5 years: $45.00/day
    5 years to 12 years: $40.00/day
    In addition, the YMCA can offer extended hours and overnight care if there is enough expressed interest and need.  In order to continue to provide this critical community service, we need those in need of care to reserve their spot today, so we can retain necessary staff and move forward with facility planning. For any essential workers in need of child care, or if you have a need for extended or overnight care, please contact Kara Breitbach, Child Care Services Director at 715-952-9339 to reserve a spot. No drop-in care will be allowed and spots are limited.
    The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce is helping people who need childcare while they are still working during this time.
